                         Audiobookbay websites

I've tried normal links, then started trawling through old reddit posts...

https://audiobookbay.nl

http://audiobookbay.me

http://audiobookbay.la

http://audiobookbay.cc

TOR works ok though with " http://audiobookbay.nl/ ", however won't allow magnet links even after signing in (has done in past (with allowing scripts on that page exception))

So then started hopping countries; tried UK, USA, Netherlands and France, all fail displaying this. Anyone knows what's occurring?

I think .me is the main & usually forwards to the current one. Currently forwarding to .nl. The site itself was working yesterday but right now seems like it is down.

however won't allow magnet links even after signing in

Not sure how to resolve that, but technically you don't need the magnet links. Look for the torrent hash on the torrent's description page, you can copy/paste that into your torrent client. Most torrent clients will recognize torrent hashes & treat them the same as magnet links.

Aah, was kinda what I was thinking with the .me one but good to get confirmation

Bugger it if is /nl though.. Been having no luck with that but hopefully was just unlucky trying to get on during downtime

OoOOooOoo, I did not know that about torrent hashes. I'll give that a go next time it's up, cheers!

Just out of curiousity, did you already try Mexico? Someone in /r/Piracy mentioned being able to connect from that country. Not sure if the site is blocking countries, or blocking VPNs/proxies, or a combination.

I'm not able to access the site. I don't want to Rule#2 so is anyone else having issues?

It's not playing nice with PIA it seems.

Did you try different countries? There are people able to access it so there might be some kind of country blocking going on at the site itself.

I disconnected from pia, navigated to the torrent, started download, reconnected to pia, and opened the torrent. Dumb, but it worked. I tried a few other countries with no success.

Did you happen to try Mexico? Curious if the site is blocking VPN/proxy connections, or just countries (or maybe both).

There was a recent post in /r/Piracy

/r/Piracy/comments/76v89y/audiobook_site/

Clearly some people are able to access it. It might be that the site itself, or the site's network, has started blocking countries? At this point it'll probably be more helpful to figure out which countries work to access the site.

Wonder if the site's admins are doing that intentionally or not.

It is blocking VPNs, loaded immediately when I removed mine.

Why would you bog down TOR for something as trivial as piracy? Use the regular internet servers, TOR is not made for torrents.

To be fair OP is talking about using Tor to browse websites (e.g. using Tor Browser), not to run torrents through it. Obvs don't torrent over Tor.

Unless he has restricted access to said sites, browsing is not illegal.

If you're from Europe, many torrent sites are banned by ISPs. That's just a sad reality here. They don't even need to host the magnet links themselves. It's often enough that they link to other sites for them to get banned.

OP did say

TOR works ok though with " http://audiobookbay.nl/ "

From what OP described there might indeed be a restriction on said sites, maybe in OP's country, ISP, or local network. Feel free to troubleshoot with OP if you disagree.

I'm still not sure why you are against people using Tor to browse torrent indexer websites.

browsing works only with tor for me. maybe also through specific vpn servers. but tor is just easier. i use it sometimes to circumvent geo blocking or paywall, etc. but not for running torrent, of course.

Lol, well for a start, that was the only browser / type of vpn that worked..
